Idea of the ‘Personal Safety Course’

The professional Taxi Driver provides an essential service to the travelling public. In more than 99% of journeys there is no risk and both the customer and Taxi Driver move on without incident. However, in a very small number of situations a situation arises which causes conflict and this may result in an altercation which leads to violence and the driver being attacked.

Taxi Drivers are rated as a high risk occupation and yet the vast majority have never been trained in self defence or personal safety from the perspective of being behind the wheel. If the driver has been trained then he/she is prepared to deal with the situation as it arises and to maintain a degree of safety.

Target candidate for the ‘Personal Safety Course’

The ‘Personal Safety Course’ is aimed at all existing and new drivers and anyone who comes into contact with the travelling public.  The ‘Personal Safety Course’ has been created to teach the driver how to deal with the majority of situations and be able to prevent them from escalating to one that results in violence against them.

How do I receive the ‘Personal Safety Course?’

Personal Participation

The’ Personal Safety Course’ is available to purchase for £20 (plus VAT). You will be able to download the Course as a PDF document to print out and keep. You will also be able to access the Course online with still images of each of the defensive strategies.

Practical Interactive Participation

Workshops are charged at £600 (plus VAT) per ½ day plus travel expenses, on the basis of a minimum of 20 participants with an upper maximum of 25. The workshops are designed to be fully interactive and teach the participant the skills required. In addition to the course attendance, each Workshop participant will receive a printed Guide and access to the online Course.

Copies of all the defensive strategies are available on a DVD at the cost of £9.99 plus VAT (plus postage and packing). For attendees of the Workshop the DVD will be free.
