Overview

There are many instances where the New Taxi Driver either does not get any formal Induction training or gets ‘handed down’ training which may result in ‘bad habits or inconsistencies’ occurring. It is essential for the driver, owner and Taxi Operator that he/she is able to become as effective as soon as possible after becoming licensed.

This will not only allow for the provision of good customer service but will give the driver confidence and additionally increase their ability to earn through good knowledge and increased tips. The scenario of ‘here’s the car, the meter, the datahead and the keys, over to you’ will not happen. 

By all drivers undertaking Induction training they will be trained to a consistent and professional standard. This will engender a more positive and confident taxi driver from the outset. In addition, the existing drivers may also want to share and contribute to the programme.

Driver Induction Programme Contents

The Driver Induction Programme provides the Taxi Operator with all of the tools required to set up, implement and manage a programme that has been customised to their own mode of operation.

Driver Induction Manual A generic format driver induction manual has been created using MS Word. The manual will form the basis of a programme and will be customised to the local and Taxi Operator requirements.
 
Assessment Software Licence A licence to the CAB Business Solutions Limited online Assessment software which enables the creation, running and reporting of assessments used to prove knowledge and passing of the Induction Programme.
 
Support Resources Welcome Letter template – to be used to introduce the new driver to the business
Induction Certificate template – to be provided as a certificate for each new driver completing the Induction Programme.
 
Training  Training of key staff to be in a position to take on the responsibility for running the programme for the Taxi Operator. This includes the editing and updating of the manual, how to assign assessments and print results and how to perform on the job training to make the new driver’s first few days into a positive experience.
 
Settle Spreadsheets A template of a driver spreadsheet (computer based) or form (paper based) for the new driver to complete and use on a weekly basis for settling with their respective owner.
 
The Driver Induction Programme is available to the Taxi Operator for the cost of £950 (plus VAT) which includes all of the above components. CAB Business Solutions Limited will provide onsite resources for a period of 2 days to work with the Taxi Operator.

Travel and subsistence is charged separately.
